The challenge: IT managers have to battle many technical issues and challenges – little did they know that their employees’ personal web surfing at work would be one of them. In fact, it takes up 59% of business internet usage. Which means corporate networks are being inundated with unnecessary and potentially damaging web traffic.
The solution: This campaign from startup SurfControl drives home the point by highlighting what employees are doing while they surf the web during work hours. Instead of highlighting employee time wasting, the campaign put more of a business efficiency and security spin on the problem, by focusing on the main concern of IT managers: the impact on their network.
The results: This campaign and others helped to jump start SurfControl’s rise in the internet filtering and desktop security industry, eventually raising both their profile and their valuation.
